SpeedLimitAdapt — September 16, 2026 Added Driver HUD showing current speed, selected limit, and ON/OFF status. Current speed capture. Keyboard controls: K to toggle, numpad + / − to adjust, numpad * to capture speed. Configurable key bindings and limiter settings. Improved Progressive throttle reduction replaces abrupt speed clamping. Bounded overspeed correction preserves vertical and lateral movement. Limiting pauses while airborne, reversing, using the handbrake, or with the engine off. Limiter defaults to OFF, with a 60 km/h target and 5 km/h adjustment steps. Target speed is bounded between 5 and 300 km/h. Limiter disables when the driver leaves or changes, or when the engine stops. Brake cancellation is now optional. Fixed Controls restricted to the driver. Replicated limiter state and target speed, with server-side command validation. Requests limited to one every 100 ms. Unified keyboard and vehicle action handling to prevent double activation. Corrected input action names and listener cleanup. Removed the duplicate M151A2 toggle action. Updated vehicle simulation API usage. Validation Scripts compiled without errors for Workbench, PC, Xbox, PS4, and PS5. Script reload succeeded; HUD resource recognized. Driving, HUD rendering, key binding persistence, and dedicated multiplayer tests remain pending.

Description from the Workshop

SpeedLimitAdapt adds an adjustable speed limiter to wheeled vehicles, accessible through the driver’s ignition/dashboard interaction menu, right next to Start Engine, or through configurable keyboard shortcuts. Features 🚗 Progressive speed limiting — Throttle is reduced as you approach the selected limit, with bounded correction for overspeed. Vertical and lateral movement are preserved, and limiting pauses while airborne, reversing, or using the handbrake. 🎛️ In-vehicle controls — Toggle the limiter, adjust the target, or capture your current speed directly from the driver’s interaction menu. Adjustment actions show the selected limit. ⌨️ Keyboard shortcuts — K is the default toggle key! K: Activate or deactivate the limiter. Numpad +: Increase the limit by 5 km/h. Numpad −: Decrease the limit by 5 km/h. Numpad *: Capture your current speed. Key bindings can be changed in the controls settings. 📊 Driver HUD — Displays your current speed, selected limit, and limiter ON/OFF status. ⚙️ Configurable behavior — Starts OFF with a default target of 60 km/h, adjustable between 5 and 300 km/h. Activating while moving captures your current speed; activating at rest keeps the existing target. Brake cancellation is optional. 🚙 Base vehicle integration — Supports wheeled vehicles inheriting from the standard Wheeled_Base prefab. Custom vehicles using another base require separate integration. 🌐 Server-validated controls — Limiter state and target speed are replicated, and commands are checked server-side. Only the driver can operate the limiter. Dedicated multiplayer testing is still pending. Great for Convoy discipline and formation driving. Driving instruction and training scenarios. Roleplay servers with speed regulations. Missions requiring controlled vehicle speeds. Feedback & Support This mod is actively developed — bug reports and suggestions are welcome in the comments!
