Description from the Workshop

The M60E3 was fielded in 1986 in an attempt to fix the issues found with the previous issues that revolved around its use with infantry, its most prominent feature is its foregrip and lightened barrel. Despite the attempts to fix the issues, it ended up weighing in at 12kg, which is more than the original 10.4 of the M60 we all know and love. Regardless, is was apparently liked by the people who used it, however few there were. The M60E4 on the otherhand was a different story. While on the outside, it looked like an E3, if featured redisigned internals, with reliability in mind. Later variants, like the one in this mod, have rails for optics, lasers, lights, and other things you may want on a firearm in the field. The Navy designated this variant the Mk43 Mod1.
