============================================================== IMPORTANT - THIS VERSION NEEDS A DIFFERENT DEPENDENCY ============================================================== RVX Core is no longer required. This mod now needs "SOFLAM Integration Core" instead. Please subscribe to it before updating, or the mod will not load. Why: RVX Core stopped compiling with current WCS Armaments in August. One call in RVX_WCS_LoadoutOverrides.c still uses the old signature of CreateWeaponQueueClient. In Reforger every loaded mod is compiled into one shared script module, so that single error takes the whole module down - your server starts, but the game logic is gone. It cannot be patched from another mod either, because patch code only becomes active after a successful compile, and the compile is what fails. So the parts we used from RVX were rewritten in our own Core, the same way it was already done for the AH-64D. ============================================================== WHAT CHANGED ============================================================== Three small classes replaced what we used from RVX: the laser code store on the turret, the four cockpit code dials, and the missile flight computer. They carry an AH1Z prefix, so this mod and the AH-64D mod still run side by side and keep separate codes. Target hand-off now goes through the Core's target registry instead of RVX's. The seeker asks it for targets matching the tuned code; the in-sight markers read the same registry, so sight and guidance can no longer disagree. The laser code is properly shared now. RVX only pushed it out when the seeker was toggled, so a pilot who had not touched the dials himself could sit there looking at a stale number. The code is now sent on every change and handed to anyone who joins later, which also means the MFD shows the same four digits on every machine. A 1269-line file went away entirely: the SOFLAM device layer (visible IR beam, NVG and thermal in the device sight, gain and filter keys) used to be carried in this mod as well. The Core provides it once for everyone now. The control hints for the SOFLAM operator come from the Core too. This mod used to ship its own copy of the same vanilla config, and the two overwrote each other depending on load order - whichever loaded last won, and the other one's hints were simply gone. Our copy is removed. M299 pods now push the missile clear before the engine fires, the same attribute that fixed the AH-64's rail drops. On the AH-64 this was the reason half of every Hellfire load fell instead of flying; the pods are the same, so it is carried over here. Not separately measured on the AH-1Z yet. Logging is down to warnings and errors. The per-missile telemetry that came along with the ported files is switched off. STILL OPEN - The hit pattern is not good yet. Missiles fly and guide, but accuracy needs more work.

Description from the Workshop

Laser-guided Hellfires for the Sages AH-1Z. A SOFLAM operator on the ground marks a target, the gunner in the copilot seat fires, and the missile follows the mark. REQUIREMENTS - SagesAH1Z and WCS_Armaments - SOFLAM Integration Core <- REQUIRED, please subscribe RVX Core is no longer used. It stopped compiling with current WCS Armaments in August, and in Reforger a single failing mod takes the whole script module down with it. Everything we used from it now lives in our own Core. Runs happily next to our AH-64D mod. Both aircraft carry their own laser code, and the SOFLAM device itself is provided once by the Core instead of twice. HOW TO USE 1. Load laser-guided ammunition: AGM-114L. 2. Set the same four-digit laser code on the aircraft and on the SOFLAM. Each digit runs 1 to 8. In the cockpit the four digits sit as softkeys along the bottom of the right MFD, on the "LSS CODE" page, left to right. IMPORTANT: leave the FIRST digit alone. The aircraft can change all four, but the SOFLAM can only change the last three. Change the first one in the cockpit and the codes can no longer be matched. 3. Select the guided missile as gunner. With a matching code and an active laser, the missile follows the mark. Without one it goes where the gunner's sight is pointing. 4. Pick an attack profile with the WCS fire-mode cycle key: DIR fast and flat, shortest time to target LOBL scales with range, shortest minimum range, gentle arc when far LO moderate climb HI top-down, steepest impact, longest minimum range Every target marked by a SOFLAM shows up in the gunner's sight: green and blinking for the code currently dialled in, static red for all others, so you can see which code to match. A marker goes dark when terrain blocks the selected profile or the target sits beyond effective range. The gunner also gets a thermal view in the sight, and the SOFLAM operator gets the visible IR beam and the NVG / thermal modes fr...
