ORCA STO Fix v1.4.0 =================== Target ------ STO Conflict PvE / Kunar server stability patch based on the supplied STO and ORCA data.pak files. Observed in supplied STO data ----------------------------- - Ground waypoint refresh: 20 seconds - Max placement attempts: 99999 - Stuck check interval: 45 seconds - Stuck max checks: 2 - Stuck player radius: 100 m - Long stuck window: 180 seconds The supplied ORCA fix already reduced placement attempts to 100, but that still allows a large single-call search burst. Live logs also showed repeated waypoint assignments, failed AI movement, and AI behavior-tree exceptions around the freeze windows. v1.4.0 changes -------------- 1. ORCA_STO_DynamicLOD.c - Enforces at least 60 s between waypoint recovery scans. - Does NOT add a waypoint when a group already has any usable waypoint. - A group must have NO usable waypoint for at least 120 s before recovery. - No forced waypoint recovery within 500 m of a player. - Replaces STO stuck deletion logic with a conservative policy: * no stuck deletion/respawn within 500 m of a player; * only groups with an assigned STO movement target are eligible; * at least 120 s of consecutive low movement is required; * expensive enclosure raycast stuck checks are not used; * replacement spawn is delayed/staggered by 30-55 s; * delayed replacement is cancelled if the attack/counter phase is no longer relevant. 2. ORCA_STO_SpawnPositionFix.c - Hard cap: 24 outer attempts total. - Road-first cap: 12 road attempts + up to 12 fallback attempts. - Repeated failed search backoff: 2 s, 5 s, 10 s, 20 s, then 30 s. - Failure cache TTL increased to 180 s. 3. ORCA_STO_WaveSpawnSmoother.c - Ground/counter split step: 2.5 s. - Vehicle split step: 4.0 s. - Helicopter split step: 5.0 s. - First-item delays also increased so ground/vehicle/heli work is less likely to overlap. - Wave counts and per-wave counts remain unchanged. Unchanged safety modules ------------------------ - ORCA_AIGroup_NullWaypointGuard.c - ORCA_STOL_AmbientGate.c - ORCA_STO_AmbientHibernate.c - ORCA_STO_PlayerProximity.c Installation ------------ Replace the existing ORCA script files in your Workbench project with the files under: Scripts/Game/ Then compile in Enfusion Workbench and rebuild/publish the ORCA fix addon. Recommended verification after restart -------------------------------------- 1. Confirm no script compile errors. 2. Confirm the server log no longer prints repeated "waypoint assigned" for every living ground group every 20 seconds. 3. Normal healthy behavior is that a waypoint recovery log appears only when a group has actually lost all usable waypoints for >=120 seconds and is >500 m from players. 4. Watch frame-time max, reason=6 disconnects, AI movement exceptions, and SpawnPositionFinder logs. 5. A road-first SpawnPositionFinder request should never exceed the ORCA 24-attempt total budget. Important --------- This package was source-checked for ASCII encoding and balanced braces. The Enfusion compiler is not available in this environment, so the final engine compile must be performed in Workbench.
